Today in the studio: Back to basics. 2 coats of gloss polymer varnish (from the folks at @goldenpaints ) in the texture areas and 2 coats of matte polymer varnish on the flat edges of the painting. Nice UV protection and seals the acrylic paint on the piece from that pesky dust. This piece will be in direct sun so a couple of coats is a necessary extra step. Not all days are wildly flinging

In the studio: Reworked this 35” (89cm) round piece prior to open studios. Wanted to try toning down my usual bright color palette. This is one of my first “Circumference Series” pieces – now ver 2.0. Getting old and incomplete pieces from the painting storage rack and reworking them is definitely a valuable part of my studio practice. . .
